That's just it. Period.

Does this ever happen to you? You see something on someone's blog and you think, you know, I don't need to write down this information, I'll remember it.
And then, the inevitable happens. You. Don't.
Here's my story. I was going thru my Bloglines list reading blogs, looking at pictures. I happened upon a recipe using an Angel Food cake mix and a can of crushed pineapple. It wasn't the main part of the story, just a little tidbit at the end of a post. As I remember it anyway. But at this point we all know my memory is a little sketchy. It sounded like a good recipe because Easter is coming and the moms will be here and they like cake. I even remember the writer saying the recipe called for a whipped topping but she used whipped cream, which I thought sounded especially yum.
Fast forward till today. I can't find that post. I can find the recipe in about forty thousand sites but you know what, I WANT TO KNOW WHO BLOGGED IT. Because I am crazy like that.
Ok, well I got that off my chest. If it was you who blogged the recipe, please please please tell me. Unless you intend to torment me.
The happy ending part of this story is that I found something else I was looking for. Vickie had the cutest little mini yoyo quilt and I thought it looked like fun. Go look it ok, because apparently later I'll be testing you on this as well.
And lastly, did anyone else see this? And what about all this? I'd love to hear your opinion on this kind of thing.
And you know what else I'd love? Knowing who blogged that cake.
Edited to add: EUREKA!!! It was the Susan Branch newsletter. Thank you my genius friends! That was sure bugging me. Vera, I'm checking your blog and Jen... it was Angry Chicken with the nests. OHMYGOSH PEOPLE I LOVE YOU.

I hate when that happens. I use google reader now just for that reason. It will let me star (save)feeds that I find interesting that I might want to view something from it later but I don't have time to do the whole "email to self" thing. I also have Microsoft OneNote where I can clip part of a webpage and then send it to a virtual notebook on my computer. Not as fast as "Star"-ing the RSS feed, but it is on my computer so that I can view it offline (like my computer is ever offline!!!). With over 450 blogs that I read, I have to come up with a system that works.

I hope you find your recipe.

Hi Pam, I love the Petals apron and the bibs. Downloadable patterns are a bit "new technology" for me but I do love the instant gratification part. The new Mary E, fabric is just beautiful too. It screams Spring!!! Vicki at Hollyhocks.typepad.com

Hi - Well, I'm not into aprons, so the links didn't get me excited. And with regards to the lost blog entry, if you read your blogs via blogger, they provide the option of saving an entry by saving it to the "blog clipping" file. Good luck withe search. -Canadian Gail

Hi Pam. I saw a recipe over at http://mar-pincushiondiaries.blogspot.com/. It is the Nov 1 post. I am not sure if it is the one you are looking for,but I had made a note to myself that I would like to try it. I haven't yet but it sounds good and it is quick. I hope that this may help you.

When I want to remember something I see in bloglines, I 'clip it'. The Clip/Blog link is at the bottom of the blog page you are reading. And you can file them in different folders that you make - recipes, crafts, etc.

Because, yeah, I hate that.

Pam--I saw the recipe in Susan Branch's newsletter too. I hate losing recipes and patterns. I always think I'll remember exactly which magazine I saw it in. You know the rest of that story.

Well, the apron is cute, but maybe you are wondering about internet patterns instead of paper patterns? I find it a huge pain in the rumpus to have to print and enlarge and cut out all that stuff.

And yes, bloglines is your friend. But I still lose crap like that all the time. Did you try googling a combo of those words plus the word blog?

I like the immediacy and affordability of online patterns.
Seems someone in Sharon's (Red Geranium) crew, maybe Sharon herself, posted something like that during a gig they were doing back in the Fall? Not sure...I can hardly remember the things I'm S'PPOSED to remember!

Ok I love that ME fabric and all those patterns are super darling. And affordable, too. I like the idea of downloadable patterns. My problem would be that my waist wouldn't fit that darn apron. Its so incredibly cute and I love the touch of black on the edges with it. Maybe I could make it and just look at it? It does seem almost too cute to wear.

Good luck with the recipe.

Had to dig that newsletter out of my trash. OMG... I can so bake this! Thank you everyone for helping Pam - you all did me a huge favor! <-- saving my quests from underbaked cake (yes... taking a short-cut and gonna buy the ready made AF cake).

Glad the recipe has been found! I lose good bloggy things all the time. I am bad about leaving a ton of browser windows open with things I want to remember (until such time as I can figure out how I want to archive the info). And then, of course, I crash the darn browser by not cleaning up after a few days. Thus the information is lost anyway. Pathetic. I love downloadable pattern goodness!

Ha... I just had to come back and post a comment a third time, because two is just not enough. I just tried Carrie's clipping thing. OMG... do I feel like I just fell off the tomato truck. Had no idea bloglines had that nifty function. All this time I've been keeping a post "new", and never to find it again. Thank you Carrie!!

I love the aprons, it makes me wish I could cook and that there was any risk I might get some ingredients on my clothes and needed to actually protect them with cute apron. But I defrost and preheat, hardly have time to tie the apron! I like downloadable anything, particularly take-out menu, but patterns OK too! I love it that you are cooking yummy for guests, Happy Easter!

LOVE that ME apron. Adorable. And I've been trying to find something that I saw on a blog - I spent HOURS looking and still haven't found it. It's so unfair. I'm going to try that clipping thing, too.

I know what you mean. There was something on a blog I wanted to note and I wanted to bookmark the blog. But my daughter needed the computer "for just a minute" and I asked her not to close the page. She accidentally closed it and I can't find it now. Hugs. Hope you find it.

I love the petal apron!!! As I started looking around at what else was there I saw several things I also loved. Thanks for sharing that I have been wanting some new sewing projects that weren't too time consuming and these all fit the bill.
