Notes from my swing

We're experiencing a brief respite from the heat wave and it was positively blissful out on the swing this morning. Not a pretty sight out back right now, the heat really takes it's toll on the foliage. Plus we really really work on conserving water.. so no lush paradise for us. My black stemmed hydrangea has produced some odd ball looking flowers this year, you can see they're drying up. I wonder if Miss Jean has had the same experience, she's a wonderful gardener and I believe she found one of these last year.


My figs are perking along. Good thing my mother is stopping by today, she can pick that fig while she's here. Hardly a meal though, that's one tiny fig. Not as tiny as the one last week which was the size of a peanut.. a shelled peanut. What the heck?


My nemesis is back.
